Delta Caprone is an Epithet User and competitor in Horizontal Pilot Campaign first appearing in Episode 4, as well as a suspected Bliss Ocean/Apple Corps Officer. Standing as the reigning champion in the card game and living parody of protagonists from the genre the episode parodies, alongside perversions of the mentor and studious best friend/love interest tropes Deathrow Crackerjack and Echo Rivers.

Horizontal Pilot Command

Delta is first introduced to the party of Episode 4 during their investigation alongside Crackerjack, Echo, and Awere - standing among the first genuine competitors in the tournament the newscrew meets, shortly after the untimely demise of Vertical Troy.

Delta behaves amicably towards the party initially, serving as their guide as he introduces the rest of the competitors, including Sgt. Colors and Night Terror and (despite his attempts to avoid interaction with them), Charles Foxtrot and Sierra Saxton, with whom he appears to be well acquainted with as the standing champion of the tournament.

However, as the newscrew continues their investigation, Delta proves to be consistently uncooperative and confrontational, Crackerjack having let Delta's rumored gang affiliations slip - cementing him as consistently suspicious. The more the party pries into his personal life, the more aggressive he becomes - and the more his surroundings and situation seem to bend to allow him to escape continued scrutiny, which he regards as "coincidences". This reaches a boiling point when he is quite literally cornered by the newscrew prior to the final round of the Pilot Command Tournament, grilled regarding his potential association to Bliss Ocean before the interrogation is (coincidentally) interrupted by Echo, who takes the opportunity to confess feelings for Delta which he had been entirely oblivious to. With emotions running high during this confession and the party still set on getting information out of him, Echo lets the fact he has an epithet slip (alongside information regarding his estranged father and a puzzle box, a jab at his protagonist-esq backstory that ultimately proved to be inconsequential), pushing him further until he reveals - not his gang affiliation - but the fact he uses his epithet to cheat his way to stardom in card tournaments. Before this state of vulnerability can be pushed forward, fate acts in Delta's favor yet again - the final round of the tournament being announced, summoning him and the party to a standoff in the arena.

With the final round underway, Delta faces the party using his pilot, Red Baron, before entering the ring himself - utilizing his epithet to duel with the party as they attempt to guess it without anything resembling success ("Pants", "Fly", and "Goggles" counted among these guesses). The fight is, however, interrupted mid-way by a cutscene before tuning back in - and in yet another show of his protagonist trope lending him aid, the fight cuts back to the "dramatic conclusion" with all combatants inexplicably reduced to 1 stamina point. As the fight rushes towards confusion, the final of Delta's famous interruptions plays out, in this case, to his detriment - the arrival of Giovanni Potage, who finally manages to recognize Delta Caprone as the leader of the Bushido Blasters from his time as a member of the gang, to which Delta responds with a show of rage, exiting the field to dole out a bare-handed beatdown to Giovanni while his newfound Apple Corps employers look on. The Undercover Corps Officer reveals themselves and battles the party as Delta, unfazed, continues beating Giovanni, before being presumably evacuated from Death Con by Yoomtah and the Apple Corps in the aftermath of the tournament.

Executive Grin Contest

Delta's second and, as of now, final appearance is during the Yoomtah & Ryatt Show's third round, the Baseball Game, presumably held captive and forced to compete similarly to the party alongside teammates Sierra Saxton, Abbot Arbuckle, and Allison McGillicuddy. In his return appearance, he has entirely dropped his attempts at niceties, addressing the party with incredibly violent speech in eerily friendly tones, menacing the group (especially Giovanni, with whom he still held "unfinished business") during the game in a fashion prioritizing doing them harm over actually succeeding in the task at hand. By this point, his epithet had been revealed to be Coincidental - and without any further need for subtlety, he openly abuses this power to turn luck in his favor, imbuing him with a complete lack of fear of the hazards around him as he causes falling meteors to miss him, striking opponent and ally alike both of which to Delta's satisfaction, stumbling upon firearms by chance in the armory and attempting to use them on Giovanni (as well as attempting to shove his face into the scathing surface of a meteor), turning his less competent (or at least more one-note) allies on his enemies for him, and gleefully menacing any and all that stood in his path regardless of their status as friend or foe, such as taking an apple from Doc Chappy only to bean it directly at Carlton Blubs right in front of him with critical success, or voicing amusement at a meteor he attempted to redirect into a goal completely crushing Abbot. Ultimately, however, his comeuppance finds him as he loses the game quite comically, the largest meteor of the batch (perhaps second only to that which Sierra and Allison managed to deflect using charades of a Natural 20 and an uppercut) flattening him before he is taken back into Bliss Ocean captivity before he may compete in the gameshow again.

Delta does, however, make an unexpected return during the party's confrontation with Yoomtah during their escape as she attempts to scale her Doomtah mecha which she intends to use to defeat the would-be escapees. During this conflict, Regina Sandbag uses her abilities to generate a rare Pilot Command card ("Dead Man's Volley"), a game both Yoomtah and Delta notoriously enjoy, which she unsuccessfully attempts to use to convince Yoomtah to surrender. In this failed gambit, the card is left at the feet of the mecha - and, after the players roll three consecutive sevens (technically four, albeit it can be assumed the final three were those noticed by Lamp and addressed in reference to 777, or a gambling jackpot of lucky numbers), Delta makes a comedic reappearance. He silently looks around during the fight raging overhead, casually picks up the card, and seeing as all involved are distracted, simply walks out of the entirely unguarded exit, suggested to be entirely unnoticed judging by the players claims that "nobody saw a damn thing."

Once again, however, lucky as Delta may be, karma is never far behind him. As the boss fight against Yoomtah rages into phase 2, the Doomtah mecha dueling against the party's newly formed mecha, Delta continues his oddly casual escape, walking his way across the hangar in which the battle is taking place with apparently no regard for the incredibly dangerous fight he'd walked into the middle of, likely overconfident in the defenses his epithet's incredible luck provided him. However, as Yoomtah is defeated, the damaged mecha collapses backwards directly unto the now-revealed Delta Caprone, crushing him for the second time in the episode before promptly exploding in comical fashion. He was later confirmed dead in Annhilate Adjustable Flaw's credits roll.

Known Abilities

Flying By the Seat of His Pants - Named for his stumbling lucky-protagonist nature, this ability allows him flight at the cost of control - flying into the air and letting fate decide what direction he soars off in. This appears to be his primary means of transportation during his combat in the Pilot Command tournament.

Stumble Upon - An ability comparable to Ramsey's "Eye for Value" that lets Delta, from the use viewers have seen of it in the Baseball Game armory, locate useful items in a given location.

Skywatcher - An ability used in the Pilot Command tournament allowing Delta to call out a target for cheating in the game - albeit it is unclear whether this ability can be used outside of Pilot Command, or what its effects are given its lone use was unsuccessful.

Coincidence(?) - Delta holds the ability to "roll for coincidence" seemingly at any given time to see if he can luck out and change the situation to his favor - demonstrated in both avoiding getting hit himself by meteors, or directing aforementioned meteors towards a given target. It is unclear if this is an ability, a passive, or even an official power of Delta's on his character sheet - but it appears to be the most prominently used ability in his moveset, given his abuse of it in the Baseball Game.

Pilots: Red Baron, (Shiny) Pookie (graverobbed from Vertical Troy by Tripwire before Rick Shades "Stole it at him"), and Dead Man's Volley (retrieved during his escape from the Channel 12 Tower).
